The advantages and disadvantages of Internet comparing with books, magazines and newspapers

Today I would like to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of Internet comparing with books, magazines and newspapers.

Although Internet is speedy and easy to use, teens using the Internet without guidance may cause some problems.

Firstly, the Internet is the fastest media for us to get the latest information. When we want to search specific information, we can type in the key words on the search engine. Also, we can get the latest and breaking news online from press, for instance ABC News and CNN. Using the Internet, we can spend less time on searching information in the library for books, magazine and newspaper.

Secondly, the Internet is extremely easy to use. Nowadays, computers are getting cheaper and cheaper. Notebooks are also widely used in work places. In addition, new technologies such as WIFI and broadband are widely installed because they are not expensive. So, people can use the Internet at home, in café, libraries, offices, simply everywhere! It has no reasons for us to carry heavy books, magazines and newspapers, as online versions newspapers are everywhere!

However, the Internet may not be suitable for everyone, especially teenagers. Internet is too easy to access that teens may get inappropriate materials such as erotic and violence scene, affecting the mental growth of them. In the US, the school gun crime worries everybody, assault crimes are also getting worse.

To make the Internet improve our lives, parental guidance is suggested for the use of Internet by the youngsters. I believe that the Internet will be much valuable if we use it in a better way. Thank you!
